Advantages

• LEDs are about 40 times more durable than conventional light bulbs and 7 times than fluorescent lamps. If a LED is used for 10 hours every day it would last more than 10 years and reduce the power consumption of about 75 - 85%.
• LEDs are also shock resistant and therefore difficult to damage with external shock. They are subject to a slow failure by dimming over time, rather than the abrupt burnout of incandescent bulbs.
• LEDs produce no UV radiation and little heat, making them ideal for illuminating objects, such as works of art, that are sensitive to UV light.
• LEDs do not contain mercury so they are once more a green, eco-friendly futuristic solution.
